Although God dwells among us today, the sin that separated us from God in the garden still threatens to disrupt our communion with him. He dwells in our hearts, yet our minds, eyes and ears can be so far from him most days. We often view our work and responsibility as “secular” and worship at church as “spiritual.”.   And that’s what I’m not sure he understands. But it is not possible to be a Christian at all if one does not have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. Every Christian Has the Spirit. To be a Christian is to have the Spirit of Christ. Romans “You are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you.

We need God's Word. We need illumination from the Holy Spirit if we are going to accept the truth that Jesus dwells inside every believer. We cannot figure it out on our own. That is simply impossible. God must teach it to us, and He does so through His Word. Are you listening to God's Word on this and every other issue in your life? If God “dwells within us”, then everything we do is in the presence of God. Developing an awareness of the presence of God simply means recognizing this, keeping it in your thoughts, and living like we really mean it.. This is a huge factor in the spiritual life. Imagine how different life would be if you were always aware of being in God’s loving presence!

If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. 13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given.

In "God Dwells With Us" Mary Coloe looks to explore one of the most important themes in John's Gospel: that of the temple. In God Dwells Among Us: Expanding Eden God dwells within us. book the Ends of the Earth, G. Beale and Mitchell Kim present a fresh reminder of God’s plan in Scripture for reaching the nations through the church.

They explain how God’s dwelling presence—as seen in the Garden of Eden, tabernacle, and temple—is related to God’s mission, and they suggest how the church can engage in its central task. Many other verses in the Word of God confirm the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ actually dwells in His believers.

We too, like the Corinthians, need to realize this fact about ourselves. Christ is not merely outside of us, a Helper in our time of need, but He dwells in us, living in and with us all the time.

G. Beale and Mitchell Kim’s God Dwells Among Us: Expanding Eden to the End of the Earth offers a grand portrait of how the theme of the temple throughout the Bible propels the church forward into mission, as a light to a dark and hurting world.

Have you ever wondered how the whole message of the Bible fits together. Paul’s main point in Romans is that, by the power of the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, we are able to successfully resist and destroy sin in our lives.
