Presents topics that otherwise overlap with coverage in Civil Procedure (e.g., subject matter jurisdiction) in a manner that leads to more advanced and interesting treatment/5(6).

Federal Courts: Cases and Materials on Judicial Federalism and the Lawyering Process is the product of the authors' rethinking of what a Federal Courts course can be. Although fully attentive to the deeper theoretical issues of federalism and separation of powers raised by the cases, the book also focuses on giving students the grounding they will need to be effective lawyer-litigators.1/5(1).

The book provides a coherently organized and accessible approach to issues of federalism, separation of powers, and Federal courts competency, and it includes all the classic Federal Courts cases.

That's basically this book's problem: it covers certain topics exhaustively, but other topics minimally. Federal Courts is hard enough without the textbook being incomprehensible on top of it all. This book needs to be comprehensively edited to slim down the unnecessarily long sentences.

It also needs to rewrite the sentences so they are in plain English rather than convoluted word salad/5(3). Cases and Materials on Federal Courts. By CHARLES T. McCoRMIcK and JrAMs H. CHADBOURN.
